Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I have so much to be thankful for in my life right now I couldn't be happier (however I wouldn't be disappointed if I won the lottery!)  I was just thinking the other day that I am one of the luckiest people I know.  I have two amazing children and a husband that I couldn't live without, regardless of how crazy he makes me sometimes (he has to put up with me too so I figure we're even!) I also have the greatest extended families that just keep growing!! We welcomed a new brother-in-law last weekend and I'm hoping another niece or nephew within the year! With a little GENTLE nudging I'm hoping I can get another sister-in-law out of the deal in the near future...hint, hint Brian! Don't worry Charlie and Kurt I'll give you a little more time but not too much!!

Mom and I went out to lunch today and we talked about how you can just look at your children in amazement and awe at what you've created.  It is so rewarding to watch them learn and grow.  I wish I could spend every waking minute with them, but since I can't, it's even more important to make the most out of what we can share!

Yesterday was wonderful. We spent the day with the Kurtz extended family, there was an abundance of turkey, desserts, and love! I'm betting that Mia and Hunter sleep all day at daycare today since they went with little to no naps yesterday.  Mia was so exhausted when we got home last night she tripped when she walked into the house and just laid down where she fell and sucked her thumb and closed her eyes, poor thing! Then when I tried to take her coat off she ran to the couch and laid her head there.  After 30 minutes of fighting it she finally went to bed!

guess who the ring leader is!

Twinkle Twinkle

Last night we were putting Hunter to bed and after turning on his mobile which plays the song "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" we realized that Mia can sing the song too!  So here she is in her first singing debut...

Bird Poop!

Here's a funny story I thought I should share!

Today after work I decided to drive around to the back of the warehouse to grab my Busch Light that I forgot over the weekend.  I got out of the truck and as soon as I stepped out I was covered in white stuff.  My first reaction was, "how can Hunter's puke land on me as I'm stepping out of the truck when I haven't seen him for nearly 10 hours."  So, I start wiping it with my hand thinking what the heck and then I realized that it wasn't, in fact couldn't be Hunter's puke...it was bird poop!!!!!  Disgusting!!! However, Erin tells me its supposed to be good luck when a bird poops on you so we'll just wait and see what happens next!!

Erin's Wedding

Well, Erin's wedding was a wonderful success! Of course the priest couldn't contain himself when the wedding party started cracking up after Jared tooted during the ceremony.  He even threw in a line about friends being polite in church during his closing prayer! Ha! At least he thought it was Bruce until afterwards.  Everyone looked gorgeous and and the reception was tons of fun! Congratulations to my best friend :)

Pee Pee

I love being a mom, but for goodness sakes, sometimes I feel like I just can't keep up and then I have to laugh.

Tonight Mia wanted to take her sweatshirt off before we ate dinner.  I thought, ok fine. Well then she proceeded to take off her undershirt and her pants.  Of course her diaper was next.  So she decides she has to go potty (she thinks if she sits on it for 2 seconds she'll get M&Ms) So I get her situated on her potty and then go get Hunter who is screaming because he's hungry.  So I get Hunter and go back to the bathroom and see Mia standing on her potty trying to reach the M&Ms so I ask her if she went potty.  She says "Yeah" in that cute little way that she has and I look and see she's telling the truth, however she was using her potty as a stool and standing on it when she did!! AGGH!! So now I have to put a still hungry Hunter down while I clean up all the pee and get a diaper back on this child!!! Why is it always worse when Jared isn't home? I think they enjoy gaining up on  me!!!!  Oh, well...off to bed and another day of fun!

Cold, cold go away!

So I think the whole family is fighting off a cold now! Poor little Mia and Hunter are both full of snot and I'm not much better.  Hunter really enjoys getting his snot sucked out which just makes me laugh.  Mia thinks she wants me to do hers to but then realizes she doesn't like it and takes the "snot sucker" and tries to help with everyone else including me. :) Of course Mia wants to help do everything right now! She wants to help Mommy make everything.  She wants to hold Hunter's bottle (he holds his own most of the time and she ends up taking it!) She wants to feed Brady and give him treats. The only place to sit while Mommy is feeding Hunter is on Mommy's lap and the list goes on!! I should be thankful she wants to help because I know its going to change as she gets older but sometimes I just want to say "Go help your dad!!", oh that's right that is what I say! Sorry Daddy!!

Hunter is now up to 4 teeth and I think he wants some real food.  Tonya, the babysitter, thinks that he wants some hamburgers and Cheetos's! I agree but we decided to stick to mush for now :) He has figured out how to get up on his hands and knees and rock but hasn't quite gotten the crawling thing down yet.  He definitely likes to explore so I imagine he'll have it figured out pretty soon! The funniest is when he tries to crawl in the bed! I imagine we'll be moving the mattress down soon too! They definitely grow up fast!

Personally, I'm getting geared up for Erin's wedding! (Hopefully we are all rid of these colds by then!)  We are planning to get a bunch of stuff accomplished this weekend and then after the blink of an eye it will be here.  Now to work on that Matron of Honor speech...oh, wait she talked about our coveted bathroom discussions, I guess all bets are off for this one! I'm definitely excited for her and Zach and I can't wait for them to make some babies!! Kylee needs a brother and a sister!!

FIRE!!!

So it was definitely an interesting day at the Kurtz household today! Kids were napping and Jared and I were cleaning up the house and outside.  Jared decided to use the burn barrel for some cardboard and then went to work straightening up his man cave.  Next thing you know, Hunter and I are playing and we hear the doorbell.  It was a Good Samaritan letting us know that the field next to our house was on fire in case we weren't burning it on purpose! (We weren't!) So she called 911 for us so we could get some help because it was definietly too much for the little fire extinguisher that Jared had on hand.  So Hunter got to see his first fire and watch the fireman put it out (we went inside when they turned up the hose and started spraying close to the house...got a little wet first and Hunter was not happy!!)  Mia woke up with just enough time to go outside and say bye bye to the fire truck! So an otherwise ordinary Sunday got just a little crazy but made for some good laughs (at least from my standpoint)!

Trick or Treat!

Halloween has come and gone so I figured I'd post some of the pictures to remember it by.

After we got dressed up in our costumes we stopped at Nana's and Pop's for our first trick or treat stop.  Mia got a bunch of fruit snacks and M & M's (her favorite!) and Hunter got a Nutrigrain bar that I'm sure Mia will still eat! We then drove to Grandma and Grandpa's.  Mia was a little scared of the other trick or treaters but she learned to say trick or treat and remembered to say thank you to everyone who gave her candy! :)
