Zoo Trips

The kids and I have already been to the zoo three times this summer, each time with different friends!  The first two times we got a little rain but not enough to stop the fun!

Our first trip turned into family skip day.  Daycare was closed so I had taken the day off work, it was rainy so Bruce and Jared didn't have to work so we went to the zoo with the Dohrmans and the Saalfranks.  We saw most of the zoo that day and hid under an umbrella during the first rain storm! Here are some pics of our first trip...

Our second trip, the kids and I went with Nana, Pops, and Nonny.  We had a lot of fun.  The giraffes were out but not close enough to feed :( but the zebras came right up to the post we were watching from so that was pretty cool!  Mia & Pops got to share a pushup and she thought that was pretty cool (the next time we went to the zoo she went up to the same stand and pointed to the pushup because she wanted another one...she remembers everything!!)

On our third trip the kids and I went on Friday after a week at the lake.  We took Aunt Erin & Kylee, Jane, Dana & Eden with us.  We went early and it was perfect weather.  All the animals were really active so it was a lot of fun.  We tried to feed the giraffes but both kids thought it was a little scary.  Mia loved the pony ride but was ready to get off after the second lap! :)

I Will Be Back!!

I am hoping to blog about all of our great memories from the last two months over the weekend if I can find time.  So for any of you out there anxiously awaiting my return hopefully you won't have to wait too much longer!!

Hunter's 15 month Checkup

I feel like we've been to the doctor a lot lately.  Hunter had a sinus infection that put a bunch of pressure on his ear about 3 weeks ago and Mia got swimmer's ear (she was a little fish at the lake last week) so we made 2 Sunday trips to the after hours clinic...yuck!

Today, however, was a good doctor's visit.  Hunter is growing great!

15 month stats:

Weight: 26lbs - 70th percentile
Height: 33in - 95th percentile

Definitely working on stretching things out right now.  He is a pooping maching as he cuts all his molars and is developing quite the personality! He thinks its hilarious to push Mia...she does NOT think this is funny...so great fun for me to say the least!  Now, if we could just get Hunter to talk instead of grunt...

Family Pics

This past weekend we went to Portrait Innovations and got pictures taken with the entire Sanders family!!  It all went really smooth and the kids were really good.  We got some great pics so I figured I'd share a few here!!

Easter

I know Easter seems like ages ago...I just haven't had much free time lately!! The weather has been getting nice and we are outside whenever we get the chance.  It seems like there are always a list of things that need accomplished but some days we just let it all go.  So don't come to my house if you think it should be clean!!!

Anyway, Easter was wonderful.  Mia & Daddy and I colored Easter eggs after Hunter went to bed on Saturday night.  We had lots of fun and I think we only broke 1 or 2 eggs!!  Jared explained that when she woke up the next morning the Easter Bunny would have some eggs hidden for her and she would have to find them.  A good excuse for her to go to bed without a fuss!

Easter morning we got up and had to wake up the kids because we were supposed to be at Grandma & Grandpa's for breakfast and we were already late since they had decided to sleep in!  As soon as Daddy woke up Mia and said Happy Easter she scurried out of the bed at lightning speed ran to the hallway and found her first egg and exclaimed, "I found an egg! I found an egg!"  It was awesome.  We then gathered a few more eggs from the hall and made it to the stairs where she could see her and Hunter's Easter surprise waiting for them on the table.  Mia was super excited about all her new things and then she got to find the rest of the eggs.  (She preferred the ones with chocolate inside) Hunter also found a few eggs.  He of course just wanted to eat the chocolate, wrapper and all!!!  I can't wait until next year when they fight over the eggs they find!!

After we finished our Easter morning at home we headed to Grandma & Grandpa's house for breakfast with Grandma, Grandpa, Little Grandma, Joel, Liz, Kurt, and Mackenzie!  It was a nice alternative to eating two dinners!  Afterwards we hung out while Hunter took a nap and  then we went over to Nana & Pops' house.  We did another Easter egg hunt over there and found eggs with lots of monies inside!  The special golden egg had a dollar bill in it but Mia didn't like it because she couldn't hear anything when she shook it.

We got home in time for us to play with our bubbles on the porch and watch our new movie.  It was a wonderful day!
